AhlulBayt News Agency: Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) have denounced Israeli far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s visit to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, accusing Israel of pursuing a broader plan to Judaize the sacred site.
In a statement on Monday, Hamas described Ben-Gvir’s entry into the mosque’s courtyards alongside settlers as a blatant violation of its sanctity. The group said the move was a calculated provocation aimed at altering the Islamic identity of Al-Aqsa.
Hamas also condemned Israeli airstrikes on residential areas in Gaza, calling them part of a scorched-earth strategy designed to forcibly displace Palestinians. The group criticized Arab and Islamic governments for offering only verbal condemnations, arguing that such responses were insufficient given the scale of Israeli aggression.
The PFLP echoed Hamas’ concerns, warning that Ben-Gvir's actions were a dangerous escalation in Israel’s Judaization project. It claimed that Israel was advancing beyond spatial and temporal divisions and pushing for full control over the site while waging "a genocidal war" against Palestinians.
The statements came after Ben-Gvir’s visit to Al-Aqsa earlier in the day, coinciding with the anniversary of Israel’s occupation of Bait ul Muqaddas. Both movements urged immediate action against Israeli violations and emphasized the need for resistance against ongoing aggression.
